Mark Burney

DIRECTOR OF ASSET AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT (AUSTRALIA & NZ)

Mark Burney is an experienced asset manager with a career spanning over two decades in the hospitality and real estate sectors. Since December 2016, Mark has served as an Asset Manager and more recently Director of Asset and Investment Management at M&L Hospitality, where he plays a pivotal role in optimising the performance of the group's Australia and NZ portfolio assets. Prior to this, he gained experience in hotel operations management at Brookfield Property Partners and Millinium Capital Managers, further enhancing his expertise in asset management.

With a background in financial leadership, Mark held roles as Financial Controller at both Sofitel Luxury Hotels and Resorts and Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach, where he was responsible for driving financial strategies that supported hotel profitability and operational efficiency. His earlier career saw him in key asset management roles at Thakral Holdings Group and Wynyard Properties Holdings Limited, where he developed a strong foundation in managing large-scale hospitality assets.

Mark's broad experience in hotel operations and financial management makes him a key contributor to the ongoing success of M&L’s hospitality portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
